Wrong type returned for AddressBookPublicDelegates(0x8015) property

Sep 1, 2010 at 9:50 PM

get_prop_type returned 'prop_type_systime' which is wrong for the property in question.

The property you're trying to read probably isn't AddressBookPublicDelegates - that prop tag is in the named prop range, so 0x8015 (in general, properties above 0x8000) are different for each store and object type.

thanks terrymach.

So support it returned correct type, but the value I get is non-sense obviously. It's 8079/12/5 1:5:20. Let me get the named props to find out what this monster is.

Ok. Also, what object type are you looking at (message, folder, attachment, etc)? It's also possible there is a bug in the time parsing code, maybe specific to your platform/compiler - can you read other time properties properly?

I'm looking at message object. Time parsing code should be fine since other time properties were shown properly.

And one question about named property.

The reason I interpreted 0x8015 to AddrerssBookPulicDelegates is that's what I found from MS-OXPROPS.pdf. Since you said value above 0x8000 could be named property, could the logic to read a property be sth like this:

if id >= 0x8000 then

lookup named properties

if lookup succeeded

Use the name found property.

Use what MS-OXPROPS.pfd says what it is

The named property of 0x8015 for my pst is below. So the type the SDK returned is correct, only thing is the value scared me. Thanks again!
